ON MILICWAVE: GROUPLOVE, FUTURE ISLANDS AND OTHER LIVES.

GROUPLOVE

Hannah Hooper and Christian Zucconi cross paths in New York City. They have never met before. It was obvious something special would come out of their mutual affinity. Just a few days after they met, Hannah was invited to an art residency in Greece. She invited Christian and he, of course, said yes. It was in Greece where they both met the future members of their band “GROUPLOVE”. In Greece they met Sean Gadd, this English lad did not only had a penchant for writing but loved playing the guitar. Also at the residency, Andrew Wassen, pro sorfer and musician. and his friend Ryan Rabin, drummer and producer. Long story short: after the residency was over they all went back to their respective homes, but the collective love for music brought them back together.

”We all understood how rare it is for five strangers to feel as close as family and create passionate music together. We couldn’t just return to Brooklyn and let the music we all made fade into a memory of that summer we had in Greece”

-Zucchoni

FUTURE ISLANDS

I love this new wave pop trio from Baltimore, Maryland. Gerrit Welmers is on keyboards and programming, William Cashion is on bass and electric guitars and the Samuel T. Herring is the front man in charge of words and vocals. They all met while studying art at East Carolina University. Future Islands was formed in January of 2006. This the type of band that you can just dance to and not pay attention to the lyrics although the lyrics should not be missed.

OTHER LIVES

This great band from Stillwater, Oklahoma toured with Bon Iver and it’s opening up for Radiohead’s first leg of the 2012 tour. Enough said.

For 12

Lyrics

I was waiting in the dark age
Searching for the ones in my life
I’m so far away
But I had hit the ground runnin
Steady as you go, I don’t mind
I’m still here today
Oh, spouting hymns and all’s in them
And forever target, when it ain’t so kind

But it feels like forever
When your mind turns to fiction

And i had took the long way
and I was in the heat, and I don’t mind
I’m so far away

But it feels like forever
When you mind turns to fiction

Imagine the darks from the skull
In a night without sleep, vibration comes, first suit I had in months without feet
Spouting hymns and all’s in them
And forever target, when it ain’t so kind

But it feels like forever,
When your mind turns to fiction

ARIZONA COLOR RUN AND CHARLEEN’S CHALLENGE

Here’s a quick video that should give you an idea

ARIZONA COLOR RUN   January 28th 2012

Hello everybody,

Charleen and Pavle have registered team “FnB Restaurant” for this year’s Color Run. So far we have 31 team members registered. The 5K’s proceeds benefit Banner Health Cardon Children’s Medical Center.

The Color Run is pretty unusual. There are 5 stations set up at every kilometer. When you pass every station you will be bombarded with a specific color. By the end you will look like a Jackson Pollock painting. Last night I was telling guests at FnB that they were going to look like a Sidney Pollock painting—someone eventually corrected me. (thx Jenny Houser)

Nor Charleen or I have ever done a 5K, so needless to say this should be interesting. Charleen tells me yesterday that she will like to challenge all of our team members. She wants you to know that it is her intention to take first place within our team. If she does not take first place, then the winner of team “FnB Restaurant” will get this:

Charleen and Pavle will come to the winner’s house and cook dinner for 4 of his/her friends. They will also bring a mystery wine maker to help us serve wine and…hang out.

So there you have it. Go to www.thecolorrun.com/arizona and join our team.

Enclave Productions who produces FnBTV will be there to get it all on tape!

We will like to thank all the members of our team that have registered already. Not only is this going to be a blast, but it’s also for a good cause.

Ok, just one more video!

GET YOUR FnB-GROOVE ON

GET YOUR FNB-GROOVE ON or LIVING LA VIDA SOCIAL OR JIDORI DEAL…hell, you name it.

We here at FnB thought that in an effort to celebrate the fact that we have our liquor license back, we should extend a small token of appreciation to all of our Facebook and Twitter fans who continued to support us through our logistical hiccup-per se. We frequently get calls from Group On and Living Social and Chicken Deal…and we always decline because we feel that any effort to provide an actual deal should be coming directly from us. Besides, we feel that our fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter should be the ones benefiting.

So here goes it:

On Monday October 24th, Pavle and Charleen will be accepting phone calls for those wanting to get their FnB Groove On. Call Pavle at (707) 206-2919, or Charleen at the restaurant at (480) 425-9463 between 9 and 5pm. We will also be sitting pretty at FnB for those who prefer in person transactions.

********Accepting phone calls for the following deal********

A $200 Gift Certificate will be available for sale at $125

A $100 Gift Certificate will be available for sale at $50

A $50 Gift Certificate will be available for sale at $25

****************************************************************************************************************************

Really it’s that simple…could make a cool gift, besides, with the holidays just a blink away, and if you drink our Kool-Aid this should be right up your foodie alley…give us a jingle.

TATA,

FnBeesters.
